Although I wish to focus on steel I continue to do a variety of stone work, primarily granite. Sometimes this is in concert with the steel as an aesthetic or structural consideration such as granite gate posts. But for some pieces the stone itself works best.
BENCHES
The granite benches shown here are cut from larger, quarried blocks. I produce a range of sizes and configurations to suite
a variety of sites and design requirements. Over the last five years I have built a series of benches comprised of two seat sections that are the opposing pieces of one split stone. These pieces are joined end to end, at an angle, sharing a central support stone, the grain and striation aligned at this seam.
